This is a walkthrough of how to get Motiview up and running on your Windows PC/tablet
Prerequisites
- A PC or tablet that follow the minimum system requirements
- Check for and install all pending Windows updates
- Administrative rights on the computer
- Internet access
Create a Windows user
You'll start by creating a local user in Windows, to be used by the Motiview application. This is to ensure no personal documents or files are exposed to the end users while using Motiview. If you already have a dedicated user on the computer for Motiview usage, you can skip this step.
-
Click the ⊞Start button, and go to Settings > Accounts, and then select Family & other users
-
Select Add someone else to this PC
-
Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
-
Enter Motiview as the user name, and let the password be blank, and click Next
If you have a Windows 10/11 Professional computer, or have an IT department that manage user accounts, you might have policies that says you need a password. If so, make sure the password is available for the users of the computer
Log in to the Motiview user
After creating the Motiview user in Windows, you will now need log into this account to install Motiview
-
Select the Start button, and click on your user to select Motiview
-
Log in to the newly created account
If your computer asks for a username and password, instead of letting you choose a login, you'll use .\Motiview as the username (including the dot and backslash)
Install the Motiview application
If Microsoft Store isn't available on your computer, you can install Motiview by enabling sideloading. Please get in touch with us if you need this.
- Open Microsoft Store on your computer / tablet, and search for Motiview. You can also click here to open the Motiview page in MS Store directly
- Click Get to download the application. Note that you don’t need to log in to a Microsoft account to be able to enjoy Motiview.
- The application should now be installed on your desktop.
-
Open up Motiview, and add your license code when prompted. After entering the license and clicking next, Motiview will start up for its first time. The application need to do some background tasks to enable all functionality, and this could take a couple of minutes.
Even though it is not required for Motiview to work, we recommend keeping the computer connected to the internet, to enable the users to download new videos, and get the latest product updates and fixes automatically.
Congratulations! You're now ready to use Motiview.
