Motiview now works with Windows, Android and iOS platforms. Below, we have listed devices that we recommend for each platform. This isn't an exhaustive list, so feel free to check out the technical requirements document for more.

Windows

Currently, Motiview can run on any Windows device that is running Windows 10 or newer. But here are some things you should consider:

  • Touchscreen
    Motiview is optimized for touchscreens, like the HP Pavilion x360 or the Acer Spin. This makes it more intuitive and easier to use, plus it's easier to clean for IPAC protocols.
  • Storage Capacity
    Videos could be downloaded directly to the hard drive to ensure smooth playback on your Windows PC regardless of your internet connection. Therefore, we recommend a hard drive of 256GB or greater if you plan to also use Motiview without internet. This would allow you to store approximately 200 videos. You can always remove downloaded videos in favour of others.
  • Connectivity
    Motiview is made to be displayed on a larger screen (e.g. TV) to create a more immersive experience and to allow others in the room to enjoy the video as well. Therefore, an HDMI output from the Windows PC is recommended.
Recommended Windows Device(s):

HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1
HP x360

Acer Spin 3

Android

You can use Motiview on Android tablets as well.

  • Android 12
    Motiview requires the Android operating system to be Android 12 or higher. This version was released in October, 2021. If your tablet is older than this, you can check the operating system version by going to 'Settings' - 'About tablet' - 'Software information' and then, 'Android version'.
  • Charging Port
    Android tablets can also be connected to external screens. To achieve this, you need to make sure the tablet has a USB-C charging port that supports connections to external screens via an adapter (e.g. Belkin USB-C to HDMI & Charge Adapter). This adapter enables you to simultaneously charge your device and stay connected to your external screen for video playback.
  • Storage Capacity
    You can stream the videos with a wifi connection. Therefore if you are planning to use the device mainly connected to the internet, then 64GB would suffice. However, if you would like to make videos available offline when that feature becomes available, we recommend at least 256GB storage capacity.
Recommended Android Device(s):

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE

iOS

Motiview works very well with iPads.

  • Charging Port
    Some iPads can also be connected to external screens. To achieve this, you need to make sure the iPad has a USB-C charging port. This allows you to connect an HDMI adapter (e.g. Belkin USB-C to HDMI & Charge Adapter or the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter). These adapters enable you to simultaneously charge your device and stay connected to your external screen for video playback on your TV screen.
  • iOS 13
    Motiview requires iOS version 13 or higher. This version was released in September 2019. If your iPad is older than this, you can check the operating system version by going to 'Settings' - 'General' - 'About' and then, 'iPadOS Version'.
  • Storage Capacity
    You can stream the videos with a wifi connection. Therefore if you are planning to use the device mainly connected to the internet, then 64GB would suffice. However, if you would like to make videos available offline when that feature becomes available, we recommend at least 256GB storage capacity.
